UAE air defences engage eight ballistic missiles, four cruise missiles, 36 UAVs
Ministry reaffirms readiness to safeguard national security
ABU DHABI – UAE air defences on Tuesday engaged eight ballistic missiles, four cruise missiles and 36 UAVs launched from Iran.
The response comes amid continuing aerial threats targeting the country. Authorities confirmed that defence systems were activated promptly to intercept incoming projectiles.
Since the start of the Iranian attacks, UAE air defences have engaged 433 ballistic missiles, 19 cruise missiles and 1,977 UAVs. The figures highlight the scale and frequency of aerial threats faced in recent weeks. Defence operations have remained active as authorities continue to monitor developments closely.

The attacks resulted in the martyrdom of two members of the armed forces while performing their national duty, in addition to the death of a Moroccan civilian contracted by the Armed Forces. Eight other fatalities were reported, involving individuals of Pakistani, Nepali, Bangladeshi, Palestinian and Indian nationalities.
A total of 188 people were also injured, with cases ranging from minor to moderate and severe. Those affected include nationals of the UAE, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Pakistan, Iran, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Azerbaijan, Yemen, Uganda, Eritrea, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Comoros, Türkiye, Iraq, Nepal, Nigeria, Oman, Jordan, Palestine, Ghana, Indonesia, Sweden and Tunisia.
The Ministry of Defence affirmed that it remains fully prepared to address any threats. It stated that it will firmly confront attempts to undermine the country’s security, ensuring the protection of its sovereignty, stability and national capabilities.
